MINERAL BENEFICIATION

Mineral Beneficiation is defined as the process of separating valuable minerals from waste gangue material in the mined ores. MSEL serves mineral beneficiation sectors of mining and minerals industry by supplying various equipment needed in beneficiation circuit as listed below.

Circular Motion Screens

Circular Motion Screens  are used to segregate various size fractions in various mineral streams. Sometimes Circular Motion Screens are used to reduce load on crushers by removing fraction which is already smaller than required size and sometimes Circular Motion Screens are used to recirculate oversize fractions from crushed product stream back to crushers. Possible application is in Mines before despatch to power plants. Circular Motion Screens are available in 1, 2 and 3 decks to get 2, 3 and 4 size fractions respectively. Each size fraction may be requiring different post processing.

Linear Motion Screens

Linear Motion Screens are used for similar applications but in more demanding situations, e.g.-
Where the height is limited by surrounding facilities,
For the screening of small and short fractions
Where required throughput is high.

Roller Screens

As opposed to above two types which are based on bed stratification principle, Roller Screens are based on free fall principle. Roller Screens are used in screening Run of Mine ore when feed stream consists of sticky, clayey, moist materials and would choke or blind the screen apertures of normal screening machines. It is also good for handling feed material containing larger boulders with smaller particles.

Grizzly Feeders/Vibrating Feeders

Grizzly Feeders/Vibrating Feeders are used to reclaim feed stream from storage bins/ hoppers or as a feeding equipment to crusher & screens where the materials are not easy to handle (wet, clayey or lot of ash content), having size fractions ranging from big lumps to significantly high percentage of wet/moist fines and where scalping is also needed.

Motorised Trippers

Motorised Trippers devices are mounted on conveyor belts running on top of long bunkers with several compartments and are used to discharge the material from the conveyor equitably all along the length of the bunker.

Roll Crushers

In Ore Preparation Plants the feed is to be further crushed to (-) 25 mm size after primary crushing by using corrugated Double Roll Crushers. Smooth Double Roll Crushers can be used normally for crushing up to (-) 5mm.

Cone Crushers

MSEL has agency agreements with reputed manufacturers to sell this equipment, which are required in secondary or tertiary crushing of various ores for subsequent grinding to even smaller sizes.

Impactors (Heavy Duty Impactor)

For higher capacities and higher reduction of size, impactors/hammer mills are used.

Reciprocating Feeders

Reciprocating Feeders are used to reclaim ore from surge bins/ bunkers to feed crushers or conveyors up to any desired capacity.

Rotary Disc Feeders

Rotary Disc Feeders are continuous volumetric device reclaiming dry small lumps, coarse, fine grained and powdery material from surge bins and hoppers to feed subsequent equipment. Rotary Disc Feeders can be used in chemical conditioning slurry tanks for dosing reagents.

Slurry Pumps

In mines and ore handling plants Slurry Pumps are used for dewatering the sump pits. In beneficiation plants Slurry Pumps are used in conveying ore slurries from and to various units of beneficiation circuit.

Thickeners

Thickeners are used in Beneficiation Circuits to dewater/ thicken coal/reject slurries for further processing use.

Column Flotation Cells

Column Flotation Cells are used in beneficiation of Ore fines (< 100 microns) where gravity and conventional flotation are not effective.

U – Flotation Cells

U – Flotation Cells are used to concentrate and separate valuable minerals from gangue minerals or from other valuable minerals in beneficiation circuits.

Apron Feeders

Apron Feeders are extensively used to reclaim ROM/ Large Size feed lump from Dump Hoppers for primary crushing.

Conveyor Components

MSEL product range includes all types of drive and non-drive pulleys, and idlers.

Drum Scrubbers (Rotary Scrubber)

Drum Scrubbers (Rotary Scrubber) are used to clean clayey/siliceous coatings from iron ore lumps as the first stage of Iron Ore Beneficiation.

High Particle Acceleration Screens

High Particle Acceleration Screens are ideally suited for screening applications for higher level of moisture and fine grain size materials (1 mm to 10 mm) with screening capacities up to 250 metric TPH. The base frame is agitated by means of eccentric shaft drive. The vibration is passed on to the dynamic frame via thrust rubbers.
Screening mats between the inner and outer frame are clamped and flexed by the two vibrating frames. The relative movement of both screening frames creates a “trampoline effect” in the screen mats to create-

  • High acceleration up to 50g in screen mats.
  • Loosening-up and de-agglomeration of the product.

Roller Screens

As opposed to above three types of screens which are based on bed stratification principle, Roller Screens are based on free fall principle. Roller Screens are used in Iron Ore Pellet Plants when it is essential to prevent breakage and degradation of pellets and efficient separation of fines for recycling back to pelletisers. It is also good for handling feed material containing larger boulder mixed with smaller particles.

Grizzly Screens

Grizzly Screens are used in primary crusher operation in Iron Ore Mining as scalping screen downstream of the Primary Ore Crusher to separate undersized and oversized ore. Typical separation is at 80 mm. Grizzly Screens are also used as Feeders to reclaim ore from Hoppers/Bins.
